Curious Karl?

Karl Lagerfeld needs no introduction. He is renowned in fashion. However, he is also known for making curious statements, some peculiar, some downright offensive. Here are a few:

1. "Adele is another problem ... I never said that she was fat. I said that she was a little roundish; a little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilos [17.6 pounds] so I think the message was not that bad."

2.  Pippa Middleton should "only ever show her back" ... "I think that her sister looks better."

3. "There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals ... I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat."

Channeling the CFDA Awards

Proenza Schouler, Phillip Lim, Oscar de la Renta, and Vera Wang took home the top honours at this year's Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards. But every single designer pulled out all the stops when dressing their favourite models and muses for the evening's festivities. Here are our top looks from the night, accompanied by a D&Me alternative:

Royal Ascot

The Royal Ascot will be back in London from the 18th to the 22nd of June. Now, everyone knows that the event is as famous for eccentric hats as it is for the races themselves. At D&Me, we have some eye-catching yet simple and classic options from Eugenia Kim:

Back in March, French Vogue came out with an issue centred around special guest Mario Testino's homeland - Peru. 

The photographer has now collaborated with Net-a-Porter to create a collection based on his native country. We were honored and inspired when Marcelle was asked to create a series of pieces for this collection. Launching today it was our surprise to find that as of now there is only one piece left! .

Crazy for Cupcakes

Here at D&ME, we can't seem to get enough of cupcakes. We were pleasantly surprised when one of our amazing customers brought in some from Lola's for everyone to enjoy the other day!

We're also conveniently near a Hummingbird's Bakery. Forget getting fit for summer, we're too excited by their monthly specials - sticky toffee pudding and lemon meringue cupcakes!
